About Raise:

At Raise we exist to help young people.  We do one thing, and we do it really well – youth mentoring.

Our best-practice, school-based program is proven to make positive and sustained change. Mentoring empowers young people to be resilient, connected and hopeful for the future. We match trained volunteers with teenagers who would benefit most from an independent, caring adult who is there to listen – and be there just for them.

Our early intervention youth mentoring program is currently in over 150 high schools across Australia. This translates to over 2,500 young people matched with a qualified mentor, and we are growing each year.

About the Role:

As our Events Coordinator you will lead the design and successful delivery of all Raise Foundation Events, including our signature fundraising event, Sparkle Ball, the Raise Patron’s Lunch, Breakfasts with the Board, Private Fundraising Dinners and our annual team conference, along with support for other events as required.

This role is an integral part of our Fundraising and Partnerships team, reporting to our Fundraising and Partnerships Director, based in Sydney.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A Genuine interest in the wellbeing of young people facing profound challenges in their lives
  • Relevant qualifications in a related field (event management highly desired)
  • A minimum of three years’ experience in events, preferably with a non-profit organisation
  • Strong project management and time management expertise
  • Outstanding administration and organisational skills
  • The ability to manage financial event budgets and fundraising targets
  • The ability to communicate consistently and effectively with all levels of the organisation including internal and external key stakeholders both online and in person
  • An ability to build strong working relationships with various stakeholders including mentors, mentees, volunteers, guests, sponsors, supporters, ambassadors, board members and committee members
  • Excellent customer service capability, with a “can do” attitude and confidence to ask for donations/ gifts on behalf of a charity
  • Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office365, CRM (preferably Salesforce), cloud-based systems including One Drive, and event based fundraising platforms
  • Willingness to undergo the Raise selection process including appropriate youth safety checks
