Radical Womyn Film Festival

About us

Founded in 2019, Radical Womyn Film Festival is a yearly film festival in Sydney, focusing on women made short films.

With less than 10% of women directors in the national box office in the US in 2019, a number that is likely reproducible elsewhere, our goal is to give visibility to women stories.

During our first edition, we screened 8 movies at the Dendy in Newtown and sold out on the ticket sales.

In 2020, in the context of COVID, we decided to take our support to filmmakers a notch up and created Flixa, a VOD streaming platform dedicated to women stories that shares its revenue with the filmmakers.

Flixa will be live on July 1st 2020.

Who we are looking for:

Gaining visibility is crucial for our goal to be successful. We want as many people as possible to meet our filmmakers through their stories. Hence we need to grow our audience online using social media engagement strategy.

  • Experience using basic graphic tools such as inDesign, and/or work with video editing

The role is very strategic for us and will expose Flixa. We need someone dedicated to the success of the platform and passioned about its future.

You must be available one day a week to plan the weekly posts (using an app like later for instance).

Role description

  • Create engaging content for both Facebook and Instagram accounts for Flixa
