Your new role

This position is responsible for the timely delivery of operational services of HR, including the planning and execution of key HR projects and providing practical, timely HR advice to staff and managers.

This role operates under limited direction and is responsible for contributing to our operational objectives by managing significant projects.

The position is also responsible for the Work Health and Safety (WH&S) function of the organisation whilst ensuring continuous improvement and efficient work practices to support HR and organisational objectives.

Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, you will:

  • Act as a point of contact for all HR services across all RACR sites.
  • Provide specialised advice and support to staff, supervisors and manager on HR Operations, Work, Health and Safety, Performance Management, Training and Development, Enterprise Agreement interpretation and application and HR policies, procedures and processes.
  • Coordinate all recruitment activities and manage the on-boarding and induction process for all new employees.
  • Review, develop and update HR/ WH&S policies, processes and related documents by applying specialised expertise and upon undertaking appropriate research.

What you’ll need to succeed

  1. A tertiary qualification in Human Resources Management or a related field.
  2. Demonstrated experience in generalist HR and interpreting employment related legislation and documentation.
  3. Demonstrated experience working with diverse cultural communities and knowledge of issues facing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and culturally and linguistically diverse individuals and communities, and LGBTIQ communities.
  4. Demonstrated supervisory and team engagement experience in a culturally diverse environment, with an ability to coach and mentor staff, to prioritise workloads and to lead the team to deliver on challenging objectives in a timely manner.
