Your new role

  • 1 x Permanent, Full time Located at Deakin, ACT
  • Part time by negotiation.
  • Annual Salary between $115,065.07 to $121,330.19, plus Superannuation, NFP Salary Packaging, Paid Christmas closure and other generous leave provisions under our Enterprise Agreement.

The Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing the financial operations and contract management functions of the organisation. This role requires exercising managerial responsibility and providing expert financial and contractual advice to ensure effective budgeting, reporting, and compliance with contractual obligations. The position contributes to the operational objectives of the organisation by establishing and implementing financial procedures, managing key contract management processes for RACR contracts and ensuring RACR meets contractual and legislative requirements.

Duties:

The Finance Manager is expected to:

  • Provide leadership and day-to-day management of the Finance Team and the Contracts Team
  • Mentor and support the Finance and Contract team members in their roles, providing guidance and resources to enhance their skills in finance, contract management and compliance.
  • Preparation of budgets, including costings for tenders and other proposals as required
  • Preparation of the annual report and financial reporting to funders
  • Monthly financial report for the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and the Finance Committee

What you’ll need to succeed

  • A bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting and/or working towards CPA or CA registration.
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar management role, including leading and managing staff, strategic planning, budgeting, analysis, reporting, payroll, cash flow management, investments, property/assets management, risk management and outsourced suppliers.
  • Demonstrated comprehensive experience with accounting and payroll software and advanced level of MS Excel.
  • Strong networking and stakeholder engagement skills with demonstrated success in building collaborative relationships to achieve organisational outcomes.
