  • Therapeutic Services;  
  • Harm Reduction Services; and  
  • Better Access Medical Clinic.

About the role

Operating within the Registered Nurse Scope of Practice, providing outreach nursing services to the vulnerable communities within Brisbane.

Clinical Services and management of Nurse Treatment area, including:

  • Conduct clinical triage of patients, nursing assessment and management of patients.
  • Perform clinical duties within scope of practice; e.g. chronic disease management, wound management, immunisation and vaccination.
  • Manage patient and administrative data according to established procedures.

This position will be supported by both QuIHN’s manager supervision and clinical supervision (provided by senior Nurse Practitioners and registered nursing staff).

What we're looking for

Someone who is passionate about their work and the health outcomes of both clients and the broader community and can demonstrate -

  • Registered Nurse (current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency - AHPRA), as well as professional indemnity insurance
  • 1+ years nursing experience in an outreach capacity
  • Demonstrated experience or good understanding of working with alcohol and other drug use
  • Immunisation and vaccination accreditation by Australian College of Nursing (or other recognised vaccination and immunisation accreditation)
  • Ability to understand the needs of vulnerable populations that access QuIHN services
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, including the ability to develop networks and work collaboratively
  • Current Queensland driver's licence (or equivalent) + hold or willing to achieve HR Licence (to drive our Nurse Bus)
  • Due to the vulnerable population we serve, employees at QuIHN are required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19
