Are you a community development superstar? We are looking for a dynamic Manager to lead the day-to-day operations, be the agent of change and build relationships within the community.

Quercus Beechworth has been an integral part of the Beechworth community and surrounds for over 35 years and is a member of the Upper Murray Regional Neighbourhood House Network (UMRNHN).

Our organisation aims to create and deliver services that positively impact on the community; it is a place where people come together to learn, share and connect.

Your new role

Reporting directly to the Board of Management, this key role provides strategic leadership, management and advocacy to relevant community stakeholders through community programs and support services, community engagement and social enterprise projects to ensure the effective delivery of organisational objectives.

The Manager of Quercus Beechworth is accountable to the Board of Management for the day-to-day leadership, management and sustainable business development of the organisation.

About you

You will have a relevant tertiary qualifications and/ or extensive relevant experience in the community sector, as well as proven past performance in developing and leading staff and volunteers.

Your leadership style is purpose driven and collaborative. You have the ability to manage multiple stakeholders, develop strong relationships inside and outside the organisation that influence change and deliver on organisational objectives.

You’re a strategic thinker, and can manage complex tasks and competing priorities to successfully deliver on community activities and support programs, business sustainability and sound organisational governance.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Tertiary qualifications and relevant experience in the community sector, preferably within a Neighbourhood House or Community Centre in a regional/rural setting.
  • Demonstrated experience of sound business management practices including the preparation and monitoring of annual budgets and relevant funding submissions.
  • Experience in working with a Board of Management to develop and deliver strategic and annual plans in community development or related field.
  • Proven high level of interpersonal, oral and written communication skills that engage with the staff, volunteers and the community.
  • Experience in representing the organisation at community activities and events, public forums and with relevant stakeholders.
  • Experience in developing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating programs that respond to community needs and trends.
  • Knowledge of marketing and promotion across various channels including in a social media environment.
  • Capacity to multitask whilst being proactive, efficient and organised to achieve set goals within agreed timeframe.
  • High level administrative knowledge including Microsoft Office Suite.
