THE ROLE

The next Federal Election could be held from as early as August 2021, but likely to occur in early 2022. This role will commence in mid-August 2021 and continue to the election. The Greens are running a large-scale field campaign to win the lower house seat of Griffith. The field organiser will be required to oversee the operations of a doorknocking campaign in one geographical section of the electorate, working under the Campaign Manager and Assistant Campaign Manager. The field organiser must be driven, with a strong desire to win and have an open mind regarding new political strategies and messaging. Part-time 3 days per week flexible working hours.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE

  • Preparation and logistics of multiple doorknock events each week
  • Making recruitment calls to supporters
  • Training and integrating new doorknock volunteers
  • Stepping up new volunteer leaders and organising a volunteer team
  • Assisting with other campaign activities such as market stalls, calling nights, and recruitment events

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

  • Outstanding communication and social skills, including ability to motivate teams of volunteers
  • Outstanding organisational skills, including demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and work to tight deadlines in a dynamic and occasionally high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to learn new systems and messages quickly
  • Commitment to the Greens charter and policies

DESIRED COMPETENCIES

  • Experience as a doorknock volunteer, preferably as part of a Greens election campaign
  • Experience and qualifications in a similar role previously and the ability to learn the role quickly and deliver outcomes as required
  • Demonstrated experience in administration including calendar coordination, proficient use of online tools and excellence in communication
  • Understanding of internal structures and processes of the Greens
  • Open Queensland drivers licence
