About the role:

The Adolescent Building Connections Therapeutic Family Practitioner is responsible for direct therapeutic service delivery to families. The role encompasses a whole of family therapeutic approach where a young person is using violence in the home or is at risk of using violence in the home. A therapeutic lens is applied in providing secondary consultation to care teams working with adolescents and their families. Therapeutic interventions are applied to improve family relationships and positively impact adolescent development.

About you:

Are you passionate about creating positive change in families? Do you have an understanding of the impacts of family violence and developmental trauma on adolescents? Do you understand the complexities associated with adolescents who use violence in the home and how to support them and their families? Are you an excellent communicator with great interpersonal skills that can be used to work effectively with adolescents? You will need the appropriate tertiary qualifications (Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, Family Therapy or Trauma Related Fields) and experience relevant to this position.
