Right now Quantum Support Services has opportunities available for eligible graduates who want to be part of a valued team working to make positive change and end family violence.

THE PROGRAM

This role is part of the 2022 Family Violence and Sexual Assault Graduate Program.

The Program provides a dedicated pathway for new and recent graduates into the family violence, sexual assault and primary prevention sectors, supporting graduates to gain practical skills and knowledge while also receiving additional training and development support.

In addition to state-wide learning and networking opportunities, graduates are supported by a dedicated Learning and Development Facilitator and have access to learning and development opportunities with other graduates throughout the year. This includes an induction session at the commencement of the Program and monthly community of practice sessions. Graduates also have access to a funding allocation to support their ongoing learning and development over a 12-month period.

To meet the eligibility requirements for the 2022 Family Violence and Sexual Assault Graduate Program, graduates must have completed all course requirements (or will do so before commencing in the Program) or have completed their qualifications within the last two years.

If you are relocating for the Program, you may also be eligible for a $1,500 contribution towards costs associated with your relocation.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The role will deliver crisis response interventions, triage new referrals, engage in service planning, coordinate referrals, and work collaboratively with the Family Violence team to support risk assessment and planning in the Wellington Local Government Area.

• Provide brief intervention support to clients referred by The Orange Door prior to allocation to Case Management.
• Provide interim support to women and women with children experiencing family violence.
• Educate and assist clients regarding their rights, responsibilities, including participation and empowerment strategies
• Establish and maintain appropriate boundaries and work effectively with clients with complex needs.
• Demonstrate a knowledge of exit planning and identifying ongoing supports for clients

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE – what you will bring

• An understanding of the social and political issues impacting on women and children escaping family violence.
• An ability to identify and assess family violence risk, safety plan and prioritise safety of women and children.
• Knowledge of case management practices and frameworks.
• The ability to engage people who are experiencing or have experienced family violence.
• Valid Victorian Driver’s Licence/Working with Children Check/Police check
• Minimum of Bachelor of Social Work or related field (refer to Position Description)
