  • Terms: This is a permanent position, with a 3 month probationary period.
  • Remuneration: $88,757.76 per annum pro-rata (SCHADS Award Level 5.1) plus 10.5% superannuation and 17.5% holiday leave loading.

Background

Although an established organisation, QCC’s fundraising portfolio is in the early stages of development. The foundations for successful, sustainable fundraising have been laid across the areas of individual giving (appeals and monthly giving), major donors, and bequests. We are now looking for an experienced fundraiser who can continue to grow acquisition, stewardship, and retention of donors across these programs.

About the Role

We are looking for a best-in-class Fundraising Specialist who can take QCC’s fundraising programs to the next level.

In this role you will be the sole fundraiser and responsible for implementing the fundraising strategy across the streams of individual giving, major donors, and bequests, utilising all communications channels. You will work closely with our campaigns teams, management, and external suppliers to ensure the effective delivery of the fundraising portfolio.

Key responsibilities and duties

  • Fundraising appeals: Develop and implement multi-channel, engaging fundraising appeals, taking responsibility for all copywriting, to recruit, retain and develop donors.
  • Work closely with campaigns teams and digital coordinator to develop strategies for acquiring new individual donors and developing engaging supporter journeys to improve donor retention
  • Build and manage strong relationships with external suppliers, including designers, printers, mailing house, and tele-fundraising agency to ensure successful delivery of the programs
  • Monthly giving: Develop and implement acquisition campaigns, taking responsibility for data segmentation, retention strategies and upgrades.
  • Project manage multiple fundraising activities to deadline and budget.
  • Major donors: Work closely with the Director to identify, cultivate and steward donors, providing ongoing support and guidance, and maximising the donor experience.
  • Bequests: Lead and develop the QCC bequest program. Steward all donors and prospects efficiently and effectively.
  • Ensure that the QCC brand, key messages, and privacy policies are applied to all fundraising activities
  • Culture: Drive a culture of effective fundraising and excellent donor care across the organisation. Be the champion for fundraising in the organisation and promote a culture of philanthropy,
  • Maintain QCC’s CRM and administrative systems for managing donors and donations, including payment systems (Stripe) and third-party platforms issuing tax receipts, responding to donor queries, etc.
  • Analyse and report on fundraising results making recommendations for further improvement, presenting results and recommendations at a monthly Fundraising Committee.

Selection Criteria

  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline such as Marketing or Fundraising or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education / training.
  • At least three-years experience in not-for-profit fundraising working across multiple fundraising streams
  • A passion for protecting the environment.
  • Demonstrated success in donor stewardship strategies to engage, retain and grow a strong community of supporters and increase income.
  • Proven experience in managing and maintaining a customer relations database (experience with Nationbuilder preferred but not essential).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of data-driven marketing methods including split-testing, audience segmentation, and user targeting.
  • Excellent writing skills and experience in writing for appeals, digital communications, social media and websites.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a flexible approach when working in a team.
