About the Role

Lead the media communications function in a newly created position that you can truly make your own. Reporting to the Marketing and Communications Specialist, you will play an essential role in developing and implementing media and digital communications strategies in a collaborative and dynamic team. Utilise your writing expertise to create content supporting communications and advocacy objectives in a role that offers diversity, growth and development opportunities. You will be required to work across multiple office locations in the Logan and inner-Brisbane areas. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with development and implementation of media and digital strategy in consultation with the marketing team
  • Establish and maintain relationships with various journalists and media outlets
  • Remain up to date with developments in the sector and identify relevant media opportunities
  • Write and distribute media releases, producing communication materials and other valuable digital content
  • Engage with various internal and external stakeholders including executive leadership team, departmental managers, media representatives and clients 

Skills and Experience Required

  • Tertiary qualifications in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications or related field highly preferred
  • Copywriting and proofreading experience within a Public Relations, Journalism or Communications role
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, building relationships at all levels
  • Flexible attitude and the ability to adapt within a changing environment
  • Strong problem solving skills - you will be required to work autonomously at times and think independently 
  • Excellent work ethic and someone who takes pride in delivering quality work outcomes

About the Company

Our client is a well established Not-for-Profit organisation committed to providing support services for migrants and refuges in the areas of settlement, employment, training, housing and social enterprise opportunities. Services are delivered across South East Queensland, with a particular focus on the Logan, Ipswich and Gold Coast regions.
