Outreach Project Leader

Psychology for a Safe Climate

Call for Expressions of Interest for employment with Psychology for a Safe Climate (PSC) as Outreach Project Leader - half time for one year, commencing early 2021.PSC has received funding to develop the outreach of our work across Australia, by engaging more psychologists, psychiatrists or counsellors committed to responding professionally to the climate crisis.

Our immediate goal for 2021 is to create a strong network of engaged psychologists, psychiatrists and counselling professionals who can offer emotional support to their own local communities in facing the climate emergency.

PSC will do this by building a strong network of skilled professional members who will work together in developing competency in the delivery of training seminars, information sessions, workshops and group support activities.

We have already developed wide experience in this work with climate engaged citizens and professionals, and our aim is to work with those across Australia who also offer support programs, to widen the range of activities and skills our profession can offer to their communities.

The Outreach Project Leader would work with the existing team of 8 PSC committed and active volunteer members and an employed Program Coordinator. Our current work focuses on offering emotional support to community groups, researchers, scientists and policymakers in facing the climate crisis. The Outreach Project Leader role entails both consolidation of our existing work and support for its further expansion across Australia.
