Your role will be to actively support and promote the quality of life for people living with a disability and our seniors by providing them with a service of excellence. We currently have permanent, part time and casual opportunities for Community Support Workers to join our organisation throughout Sydney.

About the role

Job tasks and responsibilities

As a motivated and skilled Support Worker, you will share our vision to enrich every person's life that you work with.

That is why we are looking for people who:

  • Are passionate and caring and looking to make a positive impact on the lives of others
  • Are wanting to support people to explore their capabilities and reach their potential
  • Will deliver a variety of services to clients to support them to live a fulfilling and meaningful life
  • Support clients with their daily living including (but not limited to), domestic cleaning, personal care, shopping, transport, gardening, and social and community participation
  • Will work with Mental Health participants to maintain support them to achieve their goals.

Skills and Experience

To be successful on this role:

  • Excellent interpersonal and effective communication skills
  • Current Working with Children Check, prior to commencement
  • Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain one
  • Satisfactory Police Records Check (less than 12 months old)
  • A current valid Driver's License and a registered, insured vehicle
  • Ability to work independently and as a team
  • Flexibility
  • Work rights in Australia
  • Experience either in Disability or Community services (personal care experiences an advantage but not mandatory)
  • Certificate III or IV in Disability, Mental Health, Community Services or related fields (an advantage but not mandatory)
  • Applicants experience and knowledge in working in the NDIS context with people with a mental illness and disability will be at an advantage
  • NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) Worker Orientation Module Certificate is mandatory prior to commencement: https://www.ndiscommission.gov.au/workers/support-for-workers/training-course
