The Organisation

Our customer is a trusted partner who for more than 36 years have been Logan’s leading community services organisation that has been backing those who are most vulnerable within the community.

The Role

The primary function of the SMART Coordinator is to engage with vulnerable young people and their families and also with senior personnel from government departments. As well as being passionate about young people getting their lives back on track, you will have exceptional communication skills, be very organised and persistent, and have proven experience motivating and influencing stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Bring stakeholders together and facilitate discussions and decisions around individual young people to enable coordinated responses that reduce the likelihood of the young person reoffending
  • Facilitate interagency coordination and partnerships to build accountability and commitment to each young person’s case management action plan
  • Help to build a strong SMART team with shared goals and culture despite coming from diverse organisations and perspectives
  • Support the agencies in the SMART team to address any barriers and pursue opportunities for each young person
  • The SMART Coordinator is client focused, resilient, persistent, inclusive, has collaborative spirit, and high cultural awareness

To Be Successful

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (Degree in relevant discipline) and experience in working with complex young people
  • Experience of working with young people and government and community stakeholders in the youth justice area
  • A thorough and practical working knowledge and understanding of the needs of young people who are linked with youth justice
  • Demonstrated knowledge, understanding, and experience working under the youth justice, child protection system, risks and impacts to young people and families, including local services referrals
  • Current Positive Notice Blue Card
  • Current First Aid Certificate, or ability to obtain
  • Current QLD C Class Driver’s Licence

Salary & Benefits

$90,729 - $92,730 (pro rata) based on experience, with Salary Sacrifice Available
