We are three clever, strong minded but very cheeky siblings ranging in ages from 18 to 33 living in the Oxenford area. We live in our family home with our elderly dad and love being with our family, our pets, arts & crafts and being social butterflies.
We all have cerebral palsy with some slight differences which make us each unique, with epilepsy, down syndrome and autism thrown in for good measure. As we are all mostly non-verbal it can be frustrating at times when we try to communicate, but we are getting better with every day. We have a team of loyal and knowledgeable supporters who help us to maintain our home, provide medication, prepare meals and attend to our personal care needs.
We are currently looking for someone to join our amazing team who can provide us with support and assistance, inclusive of some overnight stays, it is a pretty straightforward role but with a lot of diversity. Some of the expectations for the role will be to help us prepare for the day ahead, prepare meals, assist in feeding, administering medications, assisting us with our social calendar and providing personal care. We are completing in-home hydrotherapy and physiotherapy, so there is always the chance to upskill and learn something new.
To start with, while we get to know each other, there would be some Personal Care shifts in both the weekday mornings and evenings. This would go on to include some sleepover shifts where meal preparation and feeding will occur, we don’t require much assistance during the night but it’s nice to know someone is available. As we have a very flexible and friendly team, we are there to help one another and you can always ask for help if you’re ever unsure.
We’re looking for a female who is easy going and happy to share a laugh and a joke. Qualifications aren’t required however experience and confidence in providing personal care is a must. Sometimes we’re happy to play on our phones having some quiet time, don’t take this personally but it can give you a chance to recharge.
Being easy to get along with, adaptable and flexible around how people are feeling would be some of your key strengths. You’d also view yourself as professional, reflective in practice and keen to embrace new opportunities.
If you see yourself as a great match for our new role, please send your resume and a cover letter addressed to our brother and NDIS nominee Kristian, outlining your interest in working with us by clicking Apply Now.
Please note applications without a cover letter will not be considered.
