ROLE DESCRIPTION

The Communications Manager is a full-time role, responsible for a wide range of duties that will support Primary Ethics’ operations. The role answers to the Chief Executive Officer.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement a communications strategy that ensures consistent and effective messaging to all internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage relationships with the media
  • Collaborate with staff to manage communications with stakeholders via newsletters and other means
  • Create and keep up to date all collateral for use by staff and volunteers in communicating about Primary Ethics
  • Manage website content
  • Strategic management and regular updates of all social media (Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn).
  • Assist in the management of relationships with donors
  • Manage the development of video and photographic resources for use in communication and training
  • Administer and provide user support for all systems, including online systems and ensure consistency of messages
  • Manage volunteer and parent surveys and other projects
  • Oversee the production and maintenance of volunteer handbooks and other projects

HOURS

The hours are Monday to Friday, 9 am - 5 pm. The role is flexible in that some hours per week may be agreed to be provided from a home office.

REQUIREMENTS

Skills and Experience

  1. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  2. Ability to develop digital communications including HTML coding, utilising website content management applications and a working knowledge of graphic design applications
  3. Strong project management skills
  4. Superior general administration skills
  5. Superior knowledge and understanding of social media
  6. Confident in an online environment
  7. Capable of quickly learning new processes and systems.
  8. Excellent problem-solving skills, self-motivated, able to prioritise well
  9. Experience in working in an environment where you have to ‘pitch in’ and operate at all levels will be highly regarded.
