Board Member (Voluntary)

Prevention United

Mental health conditions are common, distressing, and potentially disabling. Their personal, social and economic impacts are considerable. Yet these conditions are not inevitable and there is now good scientific evidence to show that common conditions like depression and anxiety can be prevented from occurring in the first place through evidence-based programs and social policies.

Prevention United is a new mental health charity with a difference. We are one of the few mental health organisations in Australia that specialises in the promotion of mental wellbeing and the prevention of depression, anxiety and other mental health conditions. We undertake activities in three broad areas: awareness and advocacy; information resources and programs; consulting and capacity building.

We are seeking a person with skills and experience in accounting and/or finance to join our Board of Directors in the role of Treasurer. The Treasurer will work with the other Board Members and with our staff to ensure that Prevention United is managing its financial affairs in line with its legislative and regulatory obligations, and is able to become financially sustainable, including through the commercialisation of our programs and services.
