About the role

The physiotherapist will be responsible for the implementation and continuous improvement of therapy based programs for consumers in Residential and Home Care services throughout the Central Coast region. The primary focus of this role is to develop individualised plans with consumers that encompass a wellness, reablement focus relevant to the consumer identified goal. The physiotherapist will partner with consumers to maintain and improve mobility, independence, development and introduction to falls prevention programs. This role will closely liaise with the care team in pain management interventions and with timely reassessment and evaluation of therapies. The physiotherapist is accountable and responsible for the highest care standards and functioning of the service; achieving timely business outputs; and contributing to the development, improvement and implementation of systems. 

Essential Criteria

  • Compassionate and want to make a difference to the lives of others
  • Bachelor of Science (Physiotherapy) or equivalent
  • Current AHPRA registration
  • Drivers licence and own a motor vehicle with comprehensive insurance
  • Demonstrated up-to-date knowledge in contemporary aged care setting
  • Experience in Aged Care Quality Standards and Quality Review processes
  • Demonstrated experience in the development of wellness based programs
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team
  • Effective complex problem solving skills
  • Understanding of, and empathy with, the needs of consumers and their carers
