Postvention Australia is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting and helping people bereaved by suicide. Based in Sydney, Postvention Australia, the voice for the bereaved by suicide, aims to promote life by supporting and representing those bereaved by suicide and all those impacted in the community by suicide loss. Postvention Australia envisions an Australian community that compassionately responds and empowers those bereaved by suicide.

We are looking for a highly self-motivated individual to join our team, with an emphasis on being detail and solution oriented. This position will support the Administration Manager. Project administration and co-ordination experience is essential, with some knowledge of suicide prevention and bereavement preferred. Some flexibility in work schedule is required (potentially week to week fluctuation in hours). Initial work from home set up given current COVID 19 restrictions with the goal to integrate into office space at a later date. On offer is a 9-month contract (15-22 hours/week) with a possibility for renewal or transition to full-time position.

Job Description

  • General administrative support in handling phone calls and email correspondence, and organisation of data and files
  • Project administrative support to assist in project deliverables
  • Preparation of marketing materials/documents
  • Customer service and responding to sales/training enquiries
  • Organising meetings and minute taking
  • Managing calendars and project timelines
  • Event management and coordination
  • Social media and web administration

Skills and experience

Essential

  • Extensive experience in secretarial and administrative duties
  • Project support and coordination experience
  • Evidence of professionalism in dealing with internal and external stakeholders
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Must be self-motivated and self-sufficient
  • Great time management and able to meet tight deadlines with limited supervision
  • Customer service experience

Desirable

  • Basic accounting/bookkeeping experience
  • Familiarity with regulatory, reporting and legal requirements
  • Grant writing and fundraising experience
  • Report writing skills
