Child and Youth Support Worker - Tasmania-wide

Possability

Possability cares for children and young people who have complex needs, such that they are not able to live with their families or foster carers.

We offer careers for people who want to turn around young lives and set them up for happy and productive lives.

Work with heart

This is not a clock-in, clock-out job. We want you to bring your whole person to work – your compassion and resilience, and also your sense of humour and creativity.

We welcome people with a variety of life experiences. You will be open to challenges, have a flexible approach and the ability to bounce back from adversity.

We are interested to know your skills and experience, but we also want to know about what you do for fun outside work – such as listening to music, going to the footy, speed racing, fishing, going to movies or cooking, etc. This is valuable as it helps us match your interests with those of the young people in our care.

Qualifications

Possability is a values-based organisation, which means that we seek employees who share our values ahead of qualifications. Qualifications and experience in relevant areas (e.g. disability, social work, psychology, youth work, childcare) are desirable, but not required. What we do require is a willingness to learn and gain qualifications on the job if you do not already have them.

What we offer

Possability regularly recruits Child and Youth Support Workers for positions across Tasmania.

We offer:

  • Permanent and casual positions
  • Competitive pay rates with penalties and salary packaging benefits
  • Professional development and training
  • Career pathways
  • A supportive workplace.

We are an Employer of Choice and have been recognised for being ‘a great place to work’.

We take seriously our responsibility to deliver a support environment that is caring, nurturing and safe. We are currently working towards accreditation in the Safeguarding Children Program with the Australian Childhood Foundation.
