About the Organisation

The City of Port Phillip is an inner-city council with around 1000 employees who deliver more than 100 programs and services to our residents, businesses and visitors. These range from childcare and immunisations, to libraries, management of parks and open space, rubbish collection, road maintenance and more. About the Role

Reporting to the Manager Community Services, join a supportive and friendly team delivering a customer focussed, innovative and effective service to older people; younger people who need assistance, and their carers to live independently in their home and community.

Use your extensive knowledge and experience to provide leadership and support to a committed and passionate team who form part of a service network across the municipality.

Duties:

  • Analyse, and continuously improve policy, procedures, and systems
  • Ensure high quality service provision to our eligible residents
  • Monitor and maintain compliance with funding guidelines and quality requirements
  • Contribute expert knowledge to strategic service planning related to older people
  • Improve client management information systems including reporting systems
  • Collaborate with colleagues, service delivery partners and service networks

Skills and Experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications in the behavioural sciences or a health-related discipline
  • Demonstrated experience in the assessment of the needs of older adults and people with disabilities.
  • Ability to lead and supervise staff, and always engender a team approach
  • Experience in policy development and planning for service delivery.
  • Experience in Local Government (preferred).
