Your New Role

Part-time fixed term role to June 2026 - up to 30 hours per week.

This role is paid at $49.28 per hour.

  • Provide drop-in and outreach services to families and playgroups, assess their needs, offer practical support, and connect them to appropriate services. Facilitate referrals and assist in transitions to early childhood education and school.
  • Collaborate with local playgroups, community members, Elders, and partnering organisations to meet community needs, promote the program, and enhance service delivery.
  • Establish and maintain networks with local service providers and community agencies. Promotes Play Matters Australia (PMA) and engage families through marketing and promotional events to foster participation.
  • Ensure timely completion of administrative and reporting tasks, maintain accurate data, supports reporting, and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and program requirements.
  • Monitor program deliverables, collaborate with stakeholders, and supports program evaluation to enhance effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.

Essential Criteria

  • Holds or is eligible to hold a Working with Children Check.
  • Open drivers licence and access to vehicle.
  • Relevant Early Childhood/Human Services qualifications and/or an equivalent level of expertise and experience to undertake the key responsibilities.
  • An ability to engage sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build meaningful connections with families and children.
  • A commitment and demonstrated ability to provide culturally safe and supportive environments for children and families.
