The Public Interest Advocacy Centre (PIAC) is a community legal centre that works for social justice by driving changes to laws, policies and practices that cause or entrench disadvantage, through strategic legal casework and systemic policy advocacy.
We work closely with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, communities and organisations, to protect and promote human rights, in areas including policing, youth justice, child protection and truth-telling. Our work reflects the priorities and goals identified by our clients and/or partner Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations and representative bodies.
As a Senior Solicitor you will lead, or as a Solicitor play a central role in delivering, PIAC’s work to advance justice for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
This is a role for an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Solicitor or Senior Solicitor with strong legal practical skills and the capacity to identify and develop innovative legal, policy and political strategies to address ATSI justice issues. You will have:
