Board of Directors x3 (voluntary)

Phoenix House Youth Services Inc.

About Us

With a proud 35 year history and a progressive mindset, Phoenix House Youth Services has been a leading provider of alternative education opportunities for young people who are marginalised, “at risk” or disengaged. We provide alternative education and training to enable young people reach their full potential in a safe and nurturing environment. This is fully integrated with our wrap around support of specialist case management and therapeutic counselling to assist young people and their families. Our vision is to ensure that every young person has the opportunity to realise their full potential.

To provide further pathways for vulnerable young people in the North Shore, we are establishing a Special Assistance High School, with the Department of Education; and are seeking expressions of interest for Board member positions on the new School Board. With a new strategic plan in progress, and opportunities to expand our range of evidence-based programs, these positions will be integral in shaping the next phase of our journey.

About the Role

We are seeking individuals who share our values and heart, who are ethical and committed to the mission of helping young people succeed in life. If you have an unwavering commitment to supporting “at risk” young people and professional experience in any of: education, fundraising, technology, marketing; or with strong connections in the North Shore area (including real estate), then we strongly encourage you to apply.

The position is voluntary and requires a commitment to attend bi-monthly Board meetings, and a sub-committee meeting, with an expected commitment of a minimum of 2 years. Phoenix House prides itself on its highly engaged and contributing Board, with well qualified Board members who acknowledge the importance of diversity and inclusion.

We are looking for people who can bring energy & fresh ideas, be actively involved in the organisation and contribute practically in sub-committee work between meetings.

To gain a greater appreciation of the organisation and our work, please refer to our website: www.phoenixhouse.org.au.
