About Our Social Work Department

We are a department that pride ourselves in our strong team work ethic and creating an inclusive team where staff wellbeing is important to us. We are building a culture of research and funding opportunities to profile how we can add value to our organisation and the social work profession. We are looking for social workers who have a strong professional identity and are team orientated and committed to work together to achieve clinical excellence and positive outcomes for our clients.

Our team currently consists of 35 social workers, including 3 dedicated senior staff members employed to support our staff to identify family violence and develop skills for responding to this. Rotations between our acute and sub-acute settings are encouraged.

We can offer the opportunity to be involved in service improvement activities, ongoing mentoring, and on-site professional development. Dedicated time is made available to our staff members, for attendance at work-related training, as we believe and encourage lifelong learning. We are encouraging staff to see opportunities to profile the work we are doing at Peninsula Health.

The vision of our Social Work Team is exciting and we look forward to welcoming new team members who share our commitment and passion to make a positive impact on our community.
