What You Will Be Doing

We are looking for a Legal Counsel to join our team on a Limited Term Part Time Basis (Parental Leave Cover). As Legal Counsel reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, you will provide legal advice and services to the organisation on a broad range of legal issues with a focus on contractual and commercial agreements. An interest in health law, medico-legal law and privacy law is required.

You will also have strong inter-personal skills as well as a pragmatic approach to enable effective management of legal issues and communication with stakeholders.

What You Need

We anticipate you will have:

  • Admission as an Australian Legal Practitioner and hold a current Practicing Certificate
  • 2-3 years post admission experience and demonstrated experience in providing specialist legal advice on contractual and commercial arrangements, including procurement contracts, leasing and service agreements.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate legal issues and recommended actions in Plain English
