  • Attractive hourly rate circa $34.33 plus extras
  • Flexibility of casual employment - improve your work-life balance!

Pegasus Care is a unique HR Consulting and staffing specialist for the Community & Social Service sector. Established in 2002, we earned a strong reputation as a leading provider of mental health, disability, youth, and children's services; partnering with a range of government, not-for profit and private organisations.

We are committed to supporting our employees and offer excellent learning and career development opportunities. You will have access to a HR representative on site once a week to provide extra paid career development advice and support.

We have multiple opportunities for passionate and dedicated Youth Workers to join our team. These are casual positions, working on a regular fortnightly roster with weekend availability. You must be willing to commit to 25+ hours per week on a regular basis.

Working within a team of other Support Workers, you will be responsible for creating a healing environment for children and young people residing in crisis or temporary residential care settings, providing trauma-informed care in line with case management and care planning.

Please note: This is not a Disability Support role or a Childcare role.

We are looking for compassionate, empathetic people with previous experience as a Youth Worker. You will need to hold a minimum Diploma-level qualification in a Community Services, Youth or Psychology related field, and have demonstrated experience working with children and young people in crisis or temporary Out of Home Care.

Due to the nature of the role, you will need to be capable of dealing with sometimes difficult situations confidently and calmly, remaining highly empathetic and resilient, as you demonstrate assertiveness and confidence in your abilities.

You will be genuinely interested in making a positive difference in the lives of the children or young persons in your care, supporting them to heal from trauma and empowering them to develop independence, whilst maintaining a strong commitment to your own self-care.

Prior to commencement, the successful candidates will hold (or willing to obtain) the following:

  • A current NSW Driver's License;
  • A current First Aid Certificate;
  • A current Working With Children's' Check;
  • A current National Criminal History Record Check;
  • Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency.

If you are passionate about supporting vulnerable youth and want to make a meaningful impact in their lives - apply now!

We offer a supportive & friendly team environment with flexible hours to suit your lifestyle.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Pegasus Care will be conducting all interviews and inductions online via video.
