Program Coordinator - Emergency Services Cadets

  • $28.15 - $32.00 per hour (depending on experience and qualifications)
  • Full-Time, Fixed Term (until 30 June 2021)

PCYC is dedicated to community development. We provide a range of targeted youth programs and events across the state.

We are currently seeking a passionate and motivated Emergency Services Cadets Program Coordinator to join us at PCYC State Office in Tingalpa to provide support to volunteers; develop partnerships; coordinate events and work closely with the team of the Emergency Services Cadets program. Key responsibilities include:

  • Support local Cadet Coordinators and Cadet locations to ensure the program responds to local needs
  • Develop, promote, implement and evaluate community outreach programs to engage participants;
  • Improve relationship networks between program participants, emergency services, volunteers and other community organisations
  • Assist to establish new locations for Program delivery via community consultation and feasibility assessment
  • Provide appropriate Program feedback and reports to the Emergency Services Cadets Program Manager as required.

About You

  • Working With Children Check (Blue Card) No Card, No Start and Restricted Person legislation applies to all applicants
  • Minimum Certificate IV Community Development or equivalent 2 years industry experience
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills, outstanding interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to build relationships with stakeholders quickly
  • Experience working with volunteers whilst in a leadership role; with the ability to effectively work with and develop volunteers is desirable
  • Experience in group facilitation, community development, youth development or similar is desirable
  • Ability to travel frequently throughout Queensland
  • Hold a light rigid driver’s licence and a Restricted Drivers' Authority (or ability to obtain)
  • Hold a current First Aid and CPR certificate
  • Please note: All PCYC employees are required to complete a National Police Check upon commencement.
