PRC is now looking for a Workforce Development Officer to join the team in Melbourne or Sydney. This position is part of an exciting national workforce development project (Emerging Minds) and is a ‘knowledge-to-practice role that aims to build the capacity of generalist health and welfare services to more effectively identify, assess and support child mental health problems.
This role would suit a health care professional with a strong practice and/or capacity building skills in hospital, nursing or other health care settings, who has the capacity to develop workforce resources that meet the identified needs of these key professional groups. This role requires tacit knowledge (that comes with practice or workforce development experience), excellent engagement, writing and communication skills, together with a commitment to evidence‐based practice.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, you will primarily be responsible for undertaking and contributing to a diverse range of activities that aim to improve the capacity of generalist health/welfare services to identify, assess and support child mental health problems.
More specifically, some of your key duties will include:
The successful candidate will hold post-graduate qualifications in Social Sciences, Nursing, Public Health, Mental Health or other relevant fields, along with either high-level practice experience or experience working with practitioners to increase their skills and knowledge.
You will have a strong philosophical commitment to the scientist‐practitioner model, and the development and dissemination of evidence‐based practice, alongside demonstrated experience in working with and engaging stakeholders in collaborative practice design processes. You must be able to understand and incorporate diverse views into practice design, including the willingness to engage in a continuous quality improvement and feedback process to continually trial and refine practices or resources as needed.
Your exceptional written and verbal communications skills will ensure a high level of personal productivity and work impact, while your excellent interpersonal skills ensure your ability to design, adapt, and support the systematic application of practices and programs.
Experience working with diverse client groups, in addition to high-level knowledge and demonstrated aptitude in practice design in areas such as child mental health interventions, child maltreatment or parenting support will be highly regarded.
