Education Coordinator - Hunter Region

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate person to become our Food Education and Sustainability Training (FEAST) Program Coordinator in the Hunter region. The role is responsible for co-ordinating and rolling out the FEAST Program across primary schools in the Hunter region as well as supporting the delivery of OzHarvest School and Community Engagement offerings.

The successful person will also assist in evaluating the FEAST Program and research best practices in education, sustainability and nutrition.

Key responsibilities are:

  • Coordinate the FEAST Program roll out to primary schools across the Hunter Region
  • Develop new initiatives and engagement offerings together with the FEAST Program Manager
  • Facilitate FEAST Program Teacher Professional Development training, to ensure teachers are confident to deliver the FEAST Program to their students
  • Supervise volunteers involved in the FEAST cooking workshops and school/community presentations
  • Represent OzHarvest as needed at stakeholder meetings and school presentations
  • Assist in evaluating the FEAST program and implementing changes into the roll out plan
  • Research and stay up to date with best practices in education
  • Support OzHarvest School and Community Engagement presentation offerings in the Hunter Region
  • Ensure all record keeping is kept up to date. Booking support and teacher training booking and submission to State Government teacher training authority for certification support
  • Undertake administrative duties required for the position including maintaining comprehensive database records on OzHarvest’s CRM system Salesforce, expenditure records and up-to-date filing

To be successful for this role you will need:

  • Degree or higher in High School or Primary Education
  • Current Australian Driver's License and access to a vehicle
  • Nutrition, Hospitality and/or Environmental Sustainability background
  • Completion of Manual Handling Course
  • Current First Aid Certificate or Equivalent
  • A valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) and Police Check
