Specialised Foster Carer

OzChild

More than just foster care

We’re searching for people with a passion for improving the lives of children and young people.

OzChild is a non-government organisation dedicated to supporting vulnerable children, young people and families for nearly 170 years. The largest provider of evidence-based programs in Australia, we support over 10,000 children, young people and family members each year.

We are currently seeking individuals or couples to become specialised foster carers in our internationally proven program Treatment Foster Care Oregon (TFCO). To date we have had some fantastic outcomes for children, including 8 graduations from our VIC team, and 80% of children and young people nationally having successfully completed the program.

Carers will be fully trained and receive a generous tax-free reimbursement of $75,000 per annum pro rata.

  • Care for a child in your home aged 7-11 for around nine months
  • Generous tax-free reimbursement of $75,000 per annum
  • Provide positive reinforcement for the child in a home environment
  • Receive comprehensive training and guidance for this highly structured treatment program
  • 24/7 on-call support including weekly carer support meetings

  • Have a suitable living space including a spare bedroom
  • Have a good support network
  • Are flexible to be available for the child’s needs
