Over the last six years OzChild has grown substantially with strong communications and diversifying our funding streams key elements in supporting this growth for greater impact. We are now looking for a fundraising and communications superstar to help drive this effort further.

The Role

Reporting to the Communications Manager, the Fundraising & Communications Coordinator is a mid-level role based out of our Melbourne National Support Office. You are a key member of the Marketing & Engagement team responsible for growing OzChild’s fundraising initiatives and supporting the production of compelling content and communications to increase OzChild’s external brand profile and internal messaging and culture.

In conjunction with the Communications Manager this role will drive OzChild’s fundraising function and is responsible for forecasting, budgeting, and developing targeted fundraising strategies and campaigns that influence donor behaviour, invoke financial support, and produce a return on investment for the organisation.

You will also support the copy writing of compelling content and communications across a range of mediums and stakeholder audiences.

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • At least three years’ experience in fundraising and/or business development
  • Not-for-profit experience and previous sector knowledge is highly desirable
  • Demonstrated experience in event and/or project management
  • Highly developed interpersonal, communication and copy writing skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organisational and planning skills with demonstrated success in best practice fundraising initiatives
  • Sound financial acumen and understanding of fundraising budget setting and targets
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, electronic mail platforms (Mailchimp or other), CRM databases (Dynamics 365, SharePoint or other), and event management software (Eventbrite or other)
  • Comfortable with the use of and ability to learn new digital technologies and software, including website CMS (WordPress or other) and social media platforms.
