We are looking for an experienced and exceptional leader to fill the role of Director of Services In home care.

OzChild is the largest provider of evidence-based programs in the child protection sector in Australia, providing a range of programs that improve family functioning, problem behaviour in both children and adults, drug use, mental ill health, and domestic and family violence.

Role:

This role provides an opportunity for innovation and strategy with a focus on working in partnership with carers to contemporise out of home care within OzChild and the broader sector. Our Director In Home Care will advance practice, increase the participation of carers, children and young people, be part of advocacy in the sector and drive outcomes and the building of evidence about what works for children and young people in out of home care. As the Director in Home Care your portfolio will include Foster Care, Kinship Care, Treatment Foster Carer Oregon and the Circle Program, with oversight of approximately 400 carer households across Southern and Western Divisions of Melbourne.

Reporting to the Executive Director of Services & Practice, the Director of Services In Home Care Victoria will:

  • Provide both operational and strategic leadership of OzChild’s In Home Care services.
  • Successfully engage with funders, sector partners and key stakeholders at all levels to deliver positive outcomes for children and young people.
  • Continually build on the capability and support for staff and carers to enhance outcomes for children and young people; the capability and capacity of teams to deliver.
  • Seek opportunities for growth and expansion of In-home care services through evidence-based programs and approaches.
  • Key to success will be the ability to lead a large portfolio in a highly competitive and evolving sector, ensuring the highest levels of services are provided within a demanding financial, regulatory and compliance landscape.
  • Optimise our strategic relationships with key stakeholders and partners.
  • Use and facilitate evidence-based decision making.
  • Build the OzChild profile and set us up for success.

Essential requirements

  • A Bachelors degree qualification & signification organisational leadership experience in Social Work, Psych or related field

OzChild offers:

  • Full-time permanent position
  • Hybrid work model 
  • $150,000 - 160,000 (negotiable upon experience)  plus super
  • Vehicle / Allowance $ 15,000
  • Salary packaging up to $15,900 plus the ability to salary package $ 2650 in meals and entertainment
