Case Manager - Foster Care

The role:

For more than 30 years OzChild has been providing foster and kinship care support within the City of Greater Dandenong, supporting 200 foster care households throughout Victoria’s Southern Region and many hundreds of kinship children and families each year. In June 2019 we expanded our service to reach more vulnerable children and young people across a greater geographical area with a move into Western Melbourne.

As a Case Manager in our foster care team you will work from our brand-new office in Yarraville, your role will be the effective case management of foster care placements optimising the potential for reunification.

The purpose of the position is to improve outcomes for children and young people by delivering services and program outcomes through the support, supervision, and development of clients in the Foster Care program.

Working as part of a small but effective team OzChild are looking for someone who wants to produce better outcomes for foster children and carers, supporting the adaptation of a more fluid and adaptable model of care.

What you will do:

  • Case management for carers and children
  • Travel required to meet carers and placements
  • Assessment and placement plans
  • Lead the development of confident, competent foster carers
  • Supporting reunification outcomes

Who we are looking for:

  • Tertiary Qualification in, Human Services, Social Work, Social Sciences, Psychology
  • Advanced and complex knowledge of the foster care system
  • Current driving license (essential)
  • Case management experience
  • Experience conducting assessments in the context of foster care
