We currently have an exciting opportunity in our Outreach and Regional Services team for an experienced Program Officer. In this role you will be responsible for implementing and coordinating programs in the rural, regional and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities across Victoria.

Key Responsibilities of the position include:

  • Providing expert and timely advice to the manager on the coordination of the Outreach underspend programs and services in rural Victoria in accordance to the program guidelines, service delivery standards and contractual requirements.
  • Collaborating with VACCHO and Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations to enhance the design and implementation of new strategies to enhance the delivery of Outreach programs in Victoria.
  • Working with regional stakeholders to identify and prioritise local health needs and plan appropriate services that align with need and health priorities.
  • Coordinating all aspects of project delivery for Victorian Outreach programs including the development of briefing papers, submissions, reports, events, meetings, evaluations and stakeholder correspondence, including ensuring the programs are implemented.
  • Initiating and maintain effective engagement with internal and external stakeholders to support the effective delivery of relevant learning and development opportunities.
  • Designing and implementing new strategies to enhance communication and support to service providers and Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations.

Please note: Program Officer is a Level 3 position with a commencing salary of $65,623 + Superannuation.

Skills and experience

The successful applicant will have health related tertiary qualifications and/or relevant experience with project/program planning, development, implementation and evaluation. Drawing upon your past experience, you will embrace opportunities to demonstrate your customer service and client management expertise. Moreover, you will possess strong communication and interpersonal skills and will be equipped with well-developed computer and administration skills.

Working in Rural Health would be desirable, but not essential.
