About Outlook Employment

Outlook Employment is the disability employment arm of Outlook VIC Inc. – a successful social enterprise that commenced in Pakenham over 40 years ago.  Outlook Employment has a long and successful history as an employment services provider improving and enriching the lives of individuals through pathways to ongoing sustainable employment and effective recruitment solutions for employers. In this role you will be working within the Disability Employment Services (DES) Contract to assist individuals in the community with a disability, injury or illness find sustainable employment.

What makes us different is that we place emphasis on quality support that delivers sustainable employment outcomes and not just job numbers. For us, the most important thing is working in partnership with participants to gain long term employment.

This is a full-time role that will be available in March 2021.

About the Role

As an Employment  Consultant you will utilise your advanced interpersonal skills to assist a caseload of people with a disability, injury or health condition by providing individually tailored and comprehensive job services. Working closely with your colleagues you will share a common goal of ensuring candidates are successful in obtaining ongoing employment. The role is based primarily in Cranbourne.

  • Conducting vocational assessments to identify job seeker barriers to employment and pathways into sustainable work
  • Assist job seekers with job applications, job search and interview skills
  • Build employability for job seekers through capacity building and training and/or work experience
  • Marketing job seekers to suitable employers for sustainable job outcomes

About You

  • An ability to build rapport and maintain effective relationships with job seekers & employers
  • Exceptional customer service
  • Confident in marketing activities & negotiation
  • A quick learner & able to use external system software
  • Employment services experience
  • Drive to meet job outcome targets & KPI's in a high-pressure environment
  • Solution-focused 
  • Knowledgeable in the local labour market
  • Passionate & emotionally intelligent
  • Able to advocate on behalf of our customers
  • High level of computer literacy
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work autonomously
