Background

Our Community House is a coworking space for social sector organisations located on Wurundjeri Country, North Melbourne, Victoria, bringing together more than 400 not-for-profit and social enterprise workers to share facilities, collaborate and rethink how change is made in Australia.

The Front-of-House Manager is the first and most important face of our organisation, from welcoming members and guests to responding to questions or concerns, the Front-of-House Manager is responsible for providing our members with Our Community House's high standard of service. This includes the daily operations of Our Community House, opening, closing and welcoming tasks and ensuring member amenities and services are maintained.

The Front-of-House Manager is also responsible for overseeing our in-house cafe, helping with stock control and supply as well as managing and delivering events.

About the role

You will be:

  • Front-of-house, greeting our members and guests and providing a welcoming environment
  • Managing the email inbox, ensuring responses are timely, helpful and thoughtful
  • Invested in developing a deep knowledge of our members and how we can better support them at Our Community House
  • Responsible for the management of the POS and barista rosters for our in-house cafe
  • Assisting the general manager with operational responsibilities

About you

As a committed professional who believes in the work we do at Our Community, you will have experience working in a hosting/hospitality environment where your warm and engaging customer service skills were a priority.

You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills together with great time management and organisational skills.

You will be able to demonstrate an understanding of what is required to run an efficient in-house cafe.

Your day-to-day tasks will vary (sometimes exciting, sometimes mundane), but it's all focused on making memorable member experiences for the not-for-profit organisations that call Our Community House home.
