About the role and its impact

Working within a product team of psychologists, researchers, writers and developers committed to improving outcomes for young people, the UX Designer will help to create engaging and purposeful user experiences for our Moderated Online Social Therapy (MOST) platform.

As the UX Designer, you will be working on user testing, information architecture and user interface design for a nonprofit mobile-first web application designed to support meaningful recovery in young people experiencing mental ill-health. 

The successful candidate will require an ability to empathise with a diverse user and stakeholder group, design creative human-centered solutions to complex problems, and work collaboratively with developers to interpret requirements.

As a guide, remuneration of $70,000 - $85,000 per annum pro rata plus superannuation is offered, dependent on skills and experience; NFP generous salary sacrificing opportunities increasing take home pay are also available to the successful candidate. 

About you

To be considered, you will need:

  • Tertiary degree in a design field or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience in UX/UI design (across mobile and desktop) with knowledge of human-centred design methodologies.
  • Strong design, documentation and prototyping skills using tools such as Figma, InVision, Sketch, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator or similar.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with an ability to build rapport and communicate effectively with users and stakeholders.
  • Ability to write discovery reports and technical requirements.
  • A passion for creating meaningful online experiences with delightful, simple and innovative design.
  • A desire to continuously learn about design trends, technology and emerging UX/UI patterns.
  • Interest in digital tools for youth mental health.
