About the role and its impact

We are seeking applications for a full-time Health Information and Systems Officer. This position is fixed term and is available until 30 June 2021 with the possibility of renewal dependent on funding. This is an exciting opportunity to develop and improve our health and information systems in our headspace Centres in the North West Melbourne region.

Based at Parkville, you will initially commence work remotely from home. All applications will be accepted within the state. You must have confidential home office space and reliable internet connection.

As the Health Information and Systems Officer, your contribution will implement health information systems to support our clinical primary care services through a new Electronic Medical Record System (Mastercare), data collection systems, other reporting systems and any additional digital applications.

You will be a change facilitator with a focus on engaging staff in new processes and systems to improve clinician efficiency and data management, therefore improving the experience for young people accessing clinical services. This will include providing training and support in these systems to other staff. 

As a guide, remuneration of $65,000 - $80,000 per annum is offered, dependent on skills and experience; NFP generous salary sacrificing opportunities are also available to the successful candidate.

About you

  • Bachelor/Master’s degree in Health Information Management or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Ability to implement and maintain health-based information systems and software.
  • Ability to generate and use a level of theoretical and applied knowledge related to health information and data collection.
  • Capacity to apply a multi-perspective understanding to the development and implementation of new projects.
  • Experience in training a range of stakeholders in new systems or processes.
  • Ability to problem solve issues with health software in conjunction with IT teams and vendors.
  • Understanding of current issues in digital healthcare, including privacy, interoperability, and regulation.
