About Orange Sky Australia

Orange Sky Australia (OSA) is a not-for-profit organisation focused on the provision of free laundry and showers to people experiencing homelessness. We're growing, and fast. Since 2014, we've expanded our reach to every capital city in Australia and most recently, across the waters to Auckland, too.

Through a network of vans and with the help of 1,500 volunteers across Australia and New Zealand, our mobile service is a catalyst for positive, genuine conversation. We’re driven, dedicated, insanely ambitious and a little unconventional. We take our work seriously, but not ourselves. We work hard and ‘get it done’, but always make time to celebrate each other’s success.

The Role

Daily life at Orange Sky couldn’t be any further from the regular 9-5 grind. No two days are ever the same and you can always count on the support of an amazing team.

In a nutshell, you’ll identify funding opportunities for Orange Sky Australia and New Zealand, and nurture new and existing donor relationships. Working within our Marketing, Fundraising and Partnerships team, the key responsibilities for this role also include:

• Develop and execute innovative fundraising strategies for mid-tier donors, trusts and foundations, grants and other growth fundraising areas
• Work with internal stakeholders to identify funding needs across the organisation, and implement strategies to achieve priorities
• Manage the grants application, reporting and acquittal process for existing and new relationships with grant makers
• Approach, engage with and manage ongoing relationships with donors and supporters
• Develop a presence within the philanthropic sector by representing Orange Sky at key events and initiatives

We’re looking for:

The essentials - You’ll bring at least 3 years’ experience in a similarly complex, growing not-for-profit organisation, and have proven success in grants management, donor cultivation and relations. You are passionate about fundraising and have ground-floor experience conceiving, developing and executing fundraising programs and have advanced knowledge of the grant sector; creating compelling grant proposals is your superpower.

Communication extraordinaire – You have strong emotional intelligence with a communication style that engages a wide range of people and are constantly building relationships and networks.

You’ll bring seriously brilliant written and verbal skills to take our supporters on a journey and connect with our cause, and the ability to inspire others and influence relationships,

You’ll be data driven and analytical in your approach, with strong reporting ability.
