Open Support is a community service organisation committed to providing assistance to families in need across New South Wales through the active participation of trained volunteers and staff. Open Support supports the vulnerable in our society offering services that are professional, flexible and responsive to emerging community needs.
As one of it’s key service areas, Open Support provides crisis accommodation, case management, and support services to women and their children who have experienced and are escaping family violence. Our crisis facility, Safe Haven operates 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Support is also offered to clients who are transitioning or have transitioned from crisis accommodation to longer-term housing. The Open Support DFV Program assists women and children to begin the process of healing from the trauma of DFV and aims to empower these families to lead safe, independent and fulfilling lives.
St Vincent’s Private Hospital Sydney provides the payroll and human resources services for St Vincent’s Clinic and as such your legal employment entity is St Vincent’s Private Hospital Sydney.
The DFV Child Support Case Worker is responsible for providing child specific support and case management to children of women who access our DFV Services. This position will work with other DFV Support Service staff to ensure that children impacted by DFV are provided with a package of support that is tailored to their individual needs and circumstances and that will assist them to reach positive outcomes for their ongoing health and wellbeing. This role will also require you to support ongoing development of the program to ensure services are always in line with current best practice standards.
This position will require the ability to work across a range of shifts, which will include weekends and may also include evenings. Safe Haven operates 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. The candidate will be required to be flexible in regards to working hours which will be influenced by the specific demands of the position which are based on the needs of children at the refuge.
Salary:
Rates are paid in accordance with the SCHADS/SACS Award - Social & Community Services Employee – Level 5
