Head of Microenterprise Development (Head of MED)

Reporting to the CEO, the Head of MED is a member of the Many Rivers Executive Team.

The Head of MED is responsible for Many Rivers' Microenterprise Development (MED) business, including designing and implementing our strategies and business plan objectives and targets for the MED business with the CEO.

The role is responsible for contributing to the broader organisational strategy to achieve the Many Rivers purpose. The Head of MED will be accountable for goals and targets, people management and financial performance of the MED business.

Supported by a team of regional leaders (Heads of Region), the Head of MED is responsible for: oversight of all Microenterprise Development Managers (MEDMs); ensuring that the MED team is providing and developing business support and client journey expertise for clients and development and career pathing of the MED team.

  • Stakeholder Engagement
  • Promoting the Many Rivers values

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • Seasoned business professional, with minimum 15 years working in key Leadership positions
  • Experienced leader and business professional, may include experience in both for-profit and not-for-profit sectors. Proven track record for delivery of organisational KPIs and targets
  • Previous experience and exposure with liaising and presenting to Board of Directors
  • Experience across multiple business functions. Leadership and operational experience within the “top three layers” of a medium to large organisation
  • Practical business experience, through business advisory and/or banking and finance sectors
  • Experience and exposure to community-based economic development desirable
  • Knowledge and experience of regional and remote Australia
  • Knowledgeable of challenges facing Indigenous Australians
  • Knowledgeable of issues concerning structural disadvantage

The ideal candidate will most likely have completed tertiary qualifications in Economics, Commerce, Business.

Successful candidates will be required to complete pre-employment checks including reference checks, Criminal History check, Equifax Check and Working with Children/Vulnerable People check, where applicable.
