Odyssey House Victoria (OHV) is a place of hope and positive change for individuals working towards breaking their pattern of addiction. At OHV we believe that every person should have the opportunity to change and grow. Our diverse teams work with individuals, families and communities to reduce drug use, improve mental health and reconnect people to their family and the community.
The Hope Restart Centre (HRC) is a new state-wide residential drug and rehabilitation centre operated by OHV, located at Lucknow, near Bairnsdale, East Gippsland. The HRC treatment facility works as a Therapeutic Community (TC) with clients to establish healthier relationships, promote personal change and support them in their recovery journey.
We are looking for a skilled, driven, compassionate person who wants to excel in their chosen career and genuinely cares about their community. Are you willing to work together to make a difference to someone’s life?
We are committed to creating an inclusive and transparent workplace culture where our people can develop to be their very best. We believe in giving people flexibility so they can be great at work, and at home.
OHV employees have access to generous employee benefits including salary packaging, flexible work arrangements (including 48/52 purchased leave), health and well-being services, and training and professional development opportunities.
The position is offered as a fixed term contract to 31 October 2022, with possibility of extension if funding allows.
The role is based at the HRC in Lucknow (with a secondary location at Head Office in Richmond).
The key purpose of the position is to ensure that best practice clinical and health care processes are applied in the treatment of alcohol and drug addiction for people living in residential treatment to establish healthier relationships and lifestyles free of problematic alcohol and drug use.
A day in the life of this position is varied and at times includes co-ordinating the day to day operations of the medical office, arranging medical appointments, liaising with medical professionals, administering medication, monitoring urinalysis screens, sourcing health education information, engaging with clients in individual and group therapy sessions, case management, meeting with team members to discuss client needs, program development, completing client records and participating in activities with clients and their children.
This is a great opportunity to join a rapidly expanding and friendly team in a role that will utilise excellent communication and case management skills. If you would like to support people affected by alcohol and other drugs on their recovery journey, whilst being mentored and developed, then this could be the job for you!
At OHV we value diversity and believe that a range of backgrounds brings a variety of ideas, perspectives and experiences that will enhance our effectiveness.
We promote a workplace that actively seeks to include, welcome and value unique contributions by encouraging people with disability, Aboriginal Australians, LGBTQIA, young people and people from culturally diverse backgrounds to apply for this position.
OHV is committed to child safety and is a child safe organisation. All OHV employees must undergo Police Records and Working with Children Checks. Any person issued with a negative notice on their Working with Children Check will not be eligible for employment with us.
