The position

The role is a SCHADS level 3 classified role. The position is offered as a full-time fixed term contract to 30 June 2023, with possibility of extension if funding allows. The position is based in Barwon, Geelong.

The Care & Recovery Co-ordination & Overdose Prevention Clinician is responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments, person-centred planning, care and recovery coordination outreach support and providing a range of counselling interventions, including comprehensive harm reduction interventions, complex case management and linkages with other services. The role will assist clients to change harmful behaviours resulting from problematic alcohol and other drug use.

A day in the life of this position includes: providing high quality engagement, assessment, treatment and support services to individuals and their families through case management, outreach , developing treatment plans and providing assertive referrals to meet the individual needs of clients and their families, consulting with other services to develop and support the provision of recovery and harm reduction orientated treatment.
