Odyssey House Victoria (OHV) is a place of hope and positive change for individuals working towards breaking their pattern of addiction. At OHV we believe that every person should have the opportunity to change and grow. Our diverse teams work with individuals, families and communities to reduce drug use, improve mental health and reconnect people to their family and the community.
The Therapeutic Community (TC) is a long-term residential program. The TC is a 143-bed treatment facility that works with clients to establish healthier relationships, promote personal change and support them in their recovery journey.
We are looking for a skilled, driven, compassionate person who wants to excel in their chosen career and genuinely cares about their community. Are you willing to work together to make a difference to someone’s life?
We are committed to creating an inclusive and transparent workplace culture where our people can develop to be their very best. We believe in giving people flexibility so they can be great at work, and at home.
OHV employees have access to generous employee benefits including salary packaging, flexible work arrangements (including 48/52 purchased leave), health and well-being services, and training and professional development opportunities.
The positions are offered as full time, fixed term contracts to 30 June 2023, with possibility of extension if funding allows. The roles are based at the TC in Lower Plenty (with a secondary location at Head Office in Richmond).
The key purpose of the AOD Therapist position is to support the Clinical Services Manager and Clinical Team Leader in delivering programs and standards, model clinical best practice, and promote TC values amongst the staff group, residents and their families.
A day in the life of this position includes engaging with clients in group therapy sessions, case management, client intake and assessment, working alongside Clinical Team members in supporting client understanding and decision making, meeting with team members to discuss client needs, program delivery, completing client records and participating in activities with clients and their children.
This is a great opportunity to join a rapidly expanding and friendly team. If you would like to support people affected by alcohol and other drugs on their recovery journey in a truly unique environment, then this could be the job for you!
