The Royal Commission into Family Violence (Victoria) made recommendations to improve collaboration between the Family Violence and the AOD and Mental Health sectors to enhance the capacity of practitioners to recognise and respond to those who use and experience family violence. These sectors are in a unique position to identify and respond to family violence experienced by their clients.
We are looking for a compassionate, skilled professional who understands the intersections of Family Violence, AOD & Mental Health and is committed to building capacity across the AOD sector and increasing cross sector collaboration. The individual will join a small but dynamic team located in our Footscray site.

The position is offered as a full time, 1.0 FTE, maximum term contract to 30 June 2023. The role is based at Footscray.
The AOD Specialist Family Violence Advisor role is based in Footscray but will work across western metropolitan Melbourne. The key purpose of this position is to build capacity by providing secondary consults and support for AOD clinicians to identify and respond to family violence. The AOD Specialist Family Violence Advisor will be an innovative facilitator and expert engager who will deliver a Capacity Building program across a range of AOD service providers.
