Odyssey House Victoria (OHV) is a place of hope and positive change for individuals working towards breaking their pattern of addiction. At OHV we believe that every person should have the opportunity to change and grow. Our diverse teams work with individuals, families and communities to reduce drug use, improve mental health and reconnect people to their family and the community.

OHV provides community services for those whose lives have been affected by alcohol and other drugs and is partnering with Uniting ReGen to deliver integrated, person-centred and evidence-based treatment services as the N&W Metro AOD Service, part of the Victorian AOD sector reforms.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for a skilled, driven, compassionate person who wants to excel in their chosen career and genuinely cares about their community. Are you willing to work together to make a difference to someone’s life?

What we offer

We are committed to creating an inclusive and transparent workplace culture where our people can develop to be their very best. We believe in giving people flexibility so they can be great at work, and at home.

OHV employees have access to generous employee benefits including salary packaging, flexible work arrangements (including 48/52 purchased leave), health and well-being services, and training and professional development opportunities.

The position

The position is offered as a part time fixed term contract for four days per week: (0.8 FTE) to 30 June 2023, with the possibility of extension pending funding approval. The position is based in the South East Pakenham/Dandenong.

The key purpose of the position is to provide high quality, evidence-based screening, assessment and treatment planning to assist clients to address their problematic use of alcohol and other drugs and contribute to the prevention and reduction of AOD and mental health related harms.

A day in the life of this position includes: acting as a centralised intake function for all initial contact from clients with our service; receiving and managing enquiries and referrals from people with AOD issues; screen and prioritise catchment based requests for AOD services; navigating calendars of clinical staff throughout the catchment to make real-time assessment appointments; providing brief opportunistic interventions to clients and/or family members; providing specialist AOD assessments, preliminary treatment plan and referral.

Why apply?

This is a great opportunity because you will ensure that clients will have access to appropriate treatment and advice to address their problematic substance misuse. You will be our ‘face’ to both clients and stakeholders. You will work with a like-minded team dedicated to the prevention and reduction of AOD and mental health related harms.
