The position

The position is offered as a part time fixed term parental leave contract to 17 May 2022, for three days per week: (0.6 FTE). The position is based in the South East Pakenham/Dandenong.

The key purpose of the position is to provide high quality, evidence-based screening, assessment and treatment planning to assist clients to address their problematic use of alcohol and other drugs and contribute to the prevention and reduction of AOD and mental health related harms.

A day in the life of this position includes: acting as a centralised intake function for all initial contact from clients with our service; receiving and managing enquiries and referrals from people with AOD issues; screen and prioritise catchment based requests for AOD services; navigating calendars of clinical staff throughout the catchment to make real-time assessment appointments; providing brief opportunistic interventions to clients and/or family members; providing specialist AOD assessments, preliminary treatment plan and referral.
