NSW Police Legacy is the charity for the police community of NSW. Our organisation is tasked primarily with supporting family members left behind due the death of an officer. We attend to the financial, psychological and social needs of around 1,300 legatees, as well as others in the police community.

Our organisation is seeking an experienced communications, media, marketing or fundraising specialist to cover our Community Fundraising Coordinator role during maternity leave.

Working under the Fundraising Manager you will assist in the planning, development and implementation of NSWPL’s signature fundraising events and campaigns. You will assist to establish tasks and timelines, ensure all documentation is up-to-date, and communicate regularly with stakeholders and suppliers, especially with event participants and peer-to-peer fundraisers, and attend events as required.

This role is also responsible for overseeing third-party fundraising applications and the compliance management of third-party fundraising activities. You will be required to communicate processes to potential fundraisers, accurately maintain their record within the CRM, monitor fundraising progress and produce quality reports. Importantly during the current pandemic, you will also monitor fundraising initiatives for compliance within current NSW Health COVID guidelines.

The Community Fundraising Coordinator also works collaboratively with the Fundraising and Communications Managers to develop support materials for community engagement, stewardship and events. You will manage the online NSWPL fundraising platform (‘community portal’), including creating events, campaigns and online store products.

Other tasks include managing merchandise sales and distribution for the online store and events, as well as assisting in some office management by answering the main phone line and taking deliveries in the office.

To fill this role, we are looking for the following criteria:

  • Experience in and event-based and/or community fundraising role
  • Experience with a CRM and online fundraising platforms preferred – ThankQ, Evenico, Everyday Hero, GoFundraise, etc.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good planning and time management skills.
  • Ability to follow and implement processes.
  • A positive, open-minded and flexible approach to projects.
