Remote / Work from Home
The NSW Council for Civil Liberties (NSWCCL) was established in 1963 as an independent not-for-profit member organisation committed to protecting civil liberties and human rights in Australia. We are a membership based, secular and politically non-partisan organisation.
We engage with a wide range of civil liberties and human rights issues within NSW and at a national level.
Our main work is done through policy advocacy and campaigns to influence community views and government policies and laws. NSWCCL also responds to complaints from the public on civil liberties related issues. As a member organisation, our work is largely done by volunteers, led by an elected Committee (equivalent to a board of directors).
NSWCCL is seeking a passionate and self motivated Executive Officer to provide operational leadership and enhance our advocacy capabilities. The Executive Officer plays a crucial role in mobilising our members, leading campaigns, and ensuring the effective day-to-day operations of the organisation.
Guided by a management committee and supported by volunteers, the role is responsible for developing and implementing communication strategies, including engaging with and managing the media, organising and managing events and fundraising appeals to grow our membership and support from the wider community.
The ideal candidate will be a flexible all-rounder, proactive and possess excellent planning and organisation skills. This role will suit someone who can work predominantly from home with a blend of skills across areas including communications, social media, event coordination, and will include snap protests, campaigning and fundraising.
